Exhaust brakes and the magic behind the infamous noise.

Everyone has heard it: a long-nose Pete going downhill on the highway, giving off a loud “duh-duh-duh-duh-duh” slowing gradually as the truck loses speed. Off Road Truck Performance | When I am talking about “off idle” what I mean is right when you put your foot on the pedal and start to accelerate the engine off idle.


Now most of the time when a car is driven it is gradually or some what gradually run through the RPM range of the engine as you go through the gears, but when you smash the pedal to the floor, thats when you are asking for all of the power the engine can produce and you need it now.
